The most overhyped team in NFL betting is likely to be the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys are liked by gamblers placing an NFL preseason bet. The Dallas Cowboys are the -125 favorite to win the NFC East in NFL preseason odds. The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles are also given a possibility to win the division with the Washington Redskins the dark horse when you bet on the NFL.

NFL preseason odds list Philadelphia at +250 and the Giants at +275 to win the NFC East. The Redskins are the 5-1 longshot. Since they added wide receiver Dez Bryant in the NFL Draft, most of the attention in the division is on the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys are a marquee team but they are still a team that has a head coach in Wade Phillips who does not know how to succeed in the playoffs and a secondary that looks weak.

The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new starting quarterback this year in Kevin Kolb. Ever since he was drafted in 2007, he has played with the Eagles. Nevertheless he didn’t see a whole lot of activity until 2009, when he became the first quarterback in league history to toss more than 300 yards in both of his 2 career starts. He was furthermore titled the NFC Offensive Competitor of the Week, and this year the Eagles are showing their faith in him by giving him the starting quarterback placement.

Running back Mike Bell, who was with the Super Bowl champ the Saints last year, is 1 of a few good additions that the Eagles made in the off-season that could assist them. Bell was signed to the Eagles in March 2010 with a 1 year contract valued at $1.7 million. Whether Kolb can replace Donovan McNabb is clearly the important thing. The Philadelphia Eagles were getting older and they made numerous moves in the off-season that placed them in a better position to compete this year and in future seasons.

Head coach Tom Coughlin is under strain to win the division this season since the Giants were a huge letdown last season. They brought in a new defensive coordinator in Perry Fewell and they made a nice pickup gaining Antrel Rolle from the Cardinals. Fewell was formerly the interim head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Rolle was signed to a 5 year, $37 million deal. The Giants need a dedication to defense that wasn’t there last season, and a bounce back season from Brandon Jacobs.

The Redskins are almost certainly the most fascinating team in this division in NFL preseason odds with each one of their changes. They have a new head coach in Mike Shanahan, former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and a plethora of other new players. The team added Jammal Brown from the Saints, Willie Parker from the Steelers, Trent Williams in the draft, Larry Johnson from the Chiefs, and numerous players on defense. In total the Redskins look significantly better going into 2010, though they do have to deal with Albert Haynesworth and his attitude.
