The New York Red Bulls made news yet again at the sports books when they brought in Mexico’s national team captain Rafael Marquez. 
When they signed France star Thierry Henry, New York got interest earlier this season. New York will be a enjoyable team to watch and maybe a winning team against sports book soccer probabilities.
The New York Red Bulls is a founding member of Major League Soccer, though it has been through several name variations since the league’s inception in 1996. Marquez is likely to play midfield for the Red Bulls. Even at his age he is probably better than what New York had in the midfield, although he is not a big scoring threat. At least with the additions of Henry and Marquez they will be worth watching, although New York has not played well for the most part this season. They could even collect a couple more victories on the way.
There is no question that the MLS is receiving some interest at the sports book with the addition of competitors like Henry and Marquez. What really should not overlooked though is that Henry and Marquez genuinely didn’t have a place in leading European leagues. Barcelona didn’t use Henry much last season and they released Marquez only a few days ago. The MLS basically does not have as much skill as leagues like the Premier or La Liga and players who have major reputations but lowering skills can still be successful in what is a reduced level of soccer in the MLS.
